- Lost me at hexadecimal, but it really is crazy, especially with letting non QB/specialists were 0-19. Jake Haener is on the practice squad as the third QB. He's No. 12. Assume Hood had to switch because they'd need a number between 0-19 if Haener ever gets elevated. 0: OLB Brian Burns 1: WR Malik Nabers (unretired) 2: CB Deonte Banks 3: OLB Abdul Carter 4: Retired 5: OLB Kayvon Thibodeaux 6: QB Jaxson Dart 7: Retired 8: S Jevon Holland 9: TE Isaiah Likely 10: Retired 11: Retired 12: QB Jake Haener (practice squad) 13: WR Odell Beckham Jr. 14: Retired 15: P Jordan Stout 16: Retired 17: WR Darnell Mooney 18: WR Darius Slayton 19: QB Jameis Winston · Quoting Particle Man: @DDuggan21 Giants need to unretire some numbers. They have like 14 currently retired and they need 70 numbers for the regular roster plus PS players, plus a few more for guys on IR/PUP. Either that or switch to hexadecimal.
- They can't. That's why this isn't a discussion. They haven't gotten around to any switching numbers yet. Malachi Fields was still 0 (Brian Burns), Najee Harris was still 22 (Dru Phillips). Maybe they're just waiting until the roster is more settled and will make the official changes at the start of Week 1. To be clear, I wasn't trying to put any shade on Hyatt. I think it was fine not to give up 13 when Odell signed in June and it wasn't clear if he'd make the team (don't think Odell even asked for it then). If Hyatt made the 53, there would be a conversation. But there isn't one now that he's on the P-squad. · Quoting Kacchan💥: @DDuggan21 I didn’t know Practice squad could keep any number

- Hard not to respect the perspective from former #Panthers OLB Brian Burns: · Quoting Josh Chambers: Brian Burns says athletes love saying it’s a business until the business makes a decision they don’t agree with “Not getting extended in Carolina was my pivot. People say they understand it’s a business until they go through it.” “I was always one to say, ‘Yeah, I know it’s a business. Take care of your body, all that. I got it.’ But when you really go through the ups and downs of contract negotiations and thinking you’re supposed to get something that isn’t entitled to you, that’s when you really realize it’s a business.” “No matter how much I did for Carolina, or how much I thought I should’ve got paid, or just being a nice guy and doing everything right, at the end of the day, our timelines didn’t match up. That’s the business part.” “I understood that, but it took me some time to go through those emotions and understand, ‘Yeah, it just didn’t match.’ I made that pivot. I’m okay.…

- Asked to sit w/ the #Giants’ three pass rushers. When team PR told Brian Burns, he insisted rookie LB Arvell Reese join the group. I asked Burns, the All-Pro, why? He said, “Because he’s *going* to be one of us.” (Can’t wait for you to see this on @nfloncbs. They were gold!)
