- Hard to believe the #Steelers spent years force-feeding carries to Najee Harris instead of just letting this man loose.
- I recall @CoachTomlin being asked in 2008 about Willie Parker saying they needed to get back to “Steeler football”. Tomlin: “I don’t know what Willie’s interpretation of Steeler football is. But every day when I go to work, I walk by 5 Lombardi Trophies, not 5 rushing titles.” · Quoting The Burgh Bulletin: “Najee Harris spoke out and now he’s unemployed.” Man, I’m not going to lie, I knew Tomlin would be great on TV but him being unafraid to take shots at anyone (including his own guys) makes him 100x better. Just a match made in heaven.

My favorite John Harbaugh quote last night was about Devin Singletary being inactive for Weeks 3, 4 and 5:
“That’s on me,” Harbaugh said. “That’s on me.”
You can’t hold a team accountable if you don’t take accountability yourself. And Harbaugh in one sentence implied he made a mistake prioritizing Najee Harris in the rotation during that stretch & owned up to it
That is what leadership looks like #giants

Giants-Saints pregame thoughts:
• Finally, no rain! Will be nice to watch a game that isn't heavily impacted by the weather.
• The Giants were forced into the best version of their offense because they were trailing by two scores in the second half of last week's game. Don't want Jameis Winston dropping back 60 times every week, but the best players on this offense are Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely. The offense needs to run through them. If you have to live with a bad pick here and there, that's OK because Jameis is also delivering yards/touchdowns.
• Nabers saying he's only 80% back is encouraging considering he has 17 catches for 233 yards and two touchdowns in the past two games. That seems like an accurate assessment because he has left some plays on the field while being productive. This matchup should provide an opportunity for another big game.
• Have covered the RB shake-up plenty. Not much more to say. I don't get the Najee Harris love from the coaching staff, but this…

Maybe I’m wrong but why is ricard on the field for 24% of plays ? · Quoting Dan Duggan: Apologies for the delay in the snap counts breakdown, but kids were off from school yesterday and puppy decided to snack on a sock so there was a fun emergency vet visit. Anyway, here are the Giants' offensive snap counts vs. the Commanders:
• I've never been a fan of rotating QBs. Even for all those years in New Orleans, I'm not sure taking one of the best QBs ever off the field for Taysom Hill was a smart strategy. And JJ McCarthy isn't Hill as a runner. They had a ton of confusion before one snap deep in the red zone (a 1-yard Tyrone Tracy run) and then Jameis Winston had a delay of game on the next play after shuttling back in at QB. The negatives outweigh the positives with the rotation. If you want to play McCarthy (eventually), just play him. Until then, let Winston be the QB.

- Najee Harris 7-yard run is longest of the day for the Giants. Skattebo also has a 7-yarder.
- Giants-Commanders (obviously watching the game while I type this!) pregame thoughts: • Would expect a ground-heavy game plan in these conditions. Probably going to call on more of a game manager performance from Jameis Winston. I remain intrigued by the idea of a JJ McCarthy package. He's more mobile than Winston, but I don't view him as some huge run threat. Maybe they insert him in the red zone if the offense is struggling. • The Commanders run defense has been solid, but the Giants need to find a way to generate some explosives. I think reintegrating Tyrone Tracy is the best route to that, but not expecting a huge uptick in his usage. Think we'll continue to see more of Najee Harris. Wouldn't be surprised by some jumbo packages, especially with the lack of WR depth. • Malik Nabers wasn't happy with his lack of targets in the second half of last week's game. This is a favorable matchup for Nabers, but the weather may limit his opportunities. Interested to see how they manage…
