Tremaine Edmunds out for the season. · Quoting Dan Duggan: Giants LB Tremaine Edmunds’ shoulder injury season-ending, per sources.
Another major blow for the Giants, who have already lost QB Jaxson Dart and OLB Brian Burns and a handful of other contributors to season-ending injuries.
Edmunds had played every defensive snap, helping rookie LB Arvell Reese’s acclimation to the NFL. Micah McFadden steps into Edmunds’ role. John Harbaugh has stated that the Giants have three starting ILB, so McFadden gets his shot.

Harbaugh: Losing Jaxson Dart "changed everything" and the #NYGiants are "most definitely a work in progress."
2 more updatesfrom 1 source
- Oct 19 Pat Leonard (X) Jameis Winston should continue to start at quarterback for John Harbaugh. A veteran hand gives the Giants their best chance to win the franchise's first NFC East title since 2011 in a weak division. But the Giants' coach sounded Monday like he may be leaning toward making the switch to J.J. McCarthy for Sunday's road game against the Houston Texans. Harbaugh referred to the Giants' ongoing search to "find themselves" when it comes to balancing the offense, running the football and reclaiming an identity they lost when Jaxson Dart went down in Week 2. The coach did not pick Winston or McCarthy on Monday. But it seems clear Harbaugh is leaning toward tabbing McCarthy as his starter soon, whether it's Sunday in Houston or on Nov. 8 in Philadelphia after the Giants' Week 8 bye
- Oct 19 Pat Leonard (X) John Harbaugh hasn't picked a starting QB yet. But he did acknowledge that whatever decision he makes, he will explain to the team what he's doing and why, since it's the QB position. Harbaugh also spoke in today's press conference about the team trying to find itself and losing its original identity when Jaxson Dart went down. He also called them a "work in progress." Frankly, Harbaugh sounds like someone who is about to go to J.J. McCarthy. But again, he hasn't said that -- not yet, at least. I'll have a story coming shortly on @NYDNSports
- Oct 19 Ed Valentine (Bluesky) Harbaugh: Losing Jaxson Dart "changed everything" and the #NYGiants are "most definitely a work in progress."
- Jaxson Dart is out for the year. Jalen Hurts is out indefinitely. Dallas is reeling. The window is there, but the margin for error is gone for the #Commanders. · Quoting Tashan Reed: Checking in on the NFC East: - Giants (3-2-1, 1-0-1 NFC East) - Eagles (2-4, 1-0) - Cowboys (2-4, 1-1) - Commanders (1-3-1, 0-2-1) Amazingly, Washington would be in second place if they're able to upset the 49ers tonight.

Our Offense vs. Their Defense: New York Giants
The New Orleans Saints are traveling to New York/New Jersey to take on the Giants. The Giants are 3-1-1 on the year right now and are feeling very confident. The Giants’ […]

- The Giants’ two best playmakers are receivers. Their run game has been DOA since Jaxson Dart’s injury. Their new QB can sling it. The second half of Sunday’s game may have led the Giants to a different offensive identity that they need to lean into now

Giants-Cardinals pregame thoughts:
• Is this Jameis Winston's last stand? It would be much better for the Giants if Winston can settle down and play well enough so they don't need to rush JJ McCarthy onto the field. But the clock is going to be ticking if it doesn't look better than the past two appearances. The Giants haven't scored a TD in the 7+ quarters since Jaxson Dart's injury and they're 0-for-4 in the red zone the past two games.
Don't need to see vintage Jameis slinging it all over the field, but would like to see them open up the offense a bit. This is a bad defense. You invested in Winston for this moment, at least show a little trust in him.
• The Winston point ties into Malik Nabers. He has six catches for 27 yards over the past two games. He's still not back to top form, but this is a matchup that could get him there. But need to scheme some plays downfield/in the open field. Enough screens into the teeth of the defense.
• The Cardinals have an efficient offense…
