The Giants released veteran DL Josh Tupou to make room for Gray on the P-squad · Quoting Dan Duggan: Gray is signing to the practice squad, per source. Bringing back a RB with familiarity makes sense since Devin Singletary is the only healthy RB who has been here before this week. The Giants also have Greg Desrosiers, who they signed off the Chargers’ practice squad last week Show all

Projected inactives: • TE Thomas Fidone. Weekly healthy scratch. • OL JC Davis: Weekly healthy scratch. • DL Bobby Jamison-Travis: Weekly healthy scratch. • DL Darius Alexander. Signing Josh Tupou instead of elevating him last week signals a shift in the pecking order. • OLB Brian Burns (ankle): Not sure why they listed him as questionable, but at least it doesn’t appear long-term. • CB Deonte Banks (calf): Expecting another start for Colton Hood. • S Tyler Nubin (calf): Expecting Ar’Darius Washington to step in. Nubin can’t miss much time because his job security is slipping after Monday night. • I think Berrios and Harrison get signed to the 53 next week, but the Giants are maintaining maximum flexibility. · Quoting NYGfaninCLT: Hey @DDuggan21, the PS elevations are in… -Who are your projected Inactives? 4 RBs again? -Berrios & Harrison are out of elevations. Giants-Rams pregame thought No. 3. Here's my predictions for the practice squad elevations and the inactives: • Expecting the same practice squad elevations as last week: WR/KR Braxton Berrios and OLB Malik Harrison. Here’s my projection for the Giants’ inactives. Feel confident in the positions, but a few toss-ups: • RB Najee Harris: As soon as Tyrone Tracy fumbled last week, I had Harris taking his spot on the active roster. But Tracy plays ST and his KR skills are valuable with Deonte Banks questionable (I don't think Banks plays). Harris’ time is coming. • TE Thomas Fidone: No path to a game-day jersey if the tight ends stay healthy. • OL JC Davis: Redshirt season barring a tackle injury. • DL Bobby Jamison-Travis: Another redshirt candidate. • DL CJ Okoye: Josh Tupou was signed to the 53 for a reason. This spot is a toss up between Okoye and Darius Alexander. Think Alexander gets the nod because he can play on passing downs. • CB Deonte Banks: He’s listed as… Show all

  • Sep 21 Dan Duggan (X) Giants-Rams pregame thought No. 7: • The Josh Tupou promotion was telling. The 350-pounder adds beef to deal with the Rams’ Duo-heavy run game. DJ Reader is going to earn his salary in this game. The key for the defensive tackles against the double teams will be staying square to the line as much as possible. If they’re getting turned or pushed back, LA’s running backs will find the creases for big gains. The Giants mostly played nickel last week, but expect them to use more base 3-4 tonight to counter the Rams’ 13 personnel usage. Abdul Carter played with violence against the run in the opener. It will be vital for Carter and the other edges to bring that type of physicality tonight.

Couple salary cap/roster notes: • The Giants are $1.3M over the cap, according to the NFLPA database. They will need to be under by Wednesday because top 51 accounting ends when the season starts. They don't need to do anything dramatic since they only need a few million to operate (at least for now). Paulson Adebo, Jevon Holland, Darius Slayton and Jon Runyan have the biggest base salaries for a restructure. It doesn't really matter who they restructure, but Schoen has typically avoided restructures on possible cap casualties, so from that group, I suspect Holland will be first up. • Schoen teased the signing of a veteran defensive lineman to the practice squad next week (don't think Jihad Ward's IG video was an announcement). They have the maximum of six veterans on their practice squad, so they'd need to cut someone from this group — WR Braxton Berrios, WR Jalin Hyatt, WR Charlie Jones, OL Darian Kinnard, DL Josh Tupou, LB Malik Harrison — to add another vet. The other option… Show all
