About

Forecast Fantasy

A free fantasy football site for the news that changes a lineup: injuries, practice reports, roster moves and role changes, ranked by how much they matter, with the usage numbers behind them. I build and run it myself. There are no ads, no betting and no paid tier.

Sources

The feed reads posts from NFL beat writers, national insiders, fantasy analysts and team sites, through their RSS feeds, Bluesky and X. Every story links to the original, and the source is named on the row. Player statuses come from Sleeper, ESPN's injury page, NFL.com's game-day inactive lists and the league's official injury reports.

Season stats come from nflverse play-by-play and weekly data; separation, YAC over expected and rushing yards over expected come from NFL Next Gen Stats, also through nflverse. Each research page says which weeks its numbers cover.

Ranking the feed

Stories about the same player and event are grouped, and each group takes its headline from the most recent report that states a status. Signal holds injuries, practice reports, roster moves and credible reports of them for players who matter in fantasy; live play-by-play and commentary go to their own bands. Signal is ordered by importance: how serious the status is, how valuable the player is, whether he is on your roster, how many outlets report it and how recent it is. Readers can flag a story as not top news, and those flags are how the rules get corrected.

The numbers

Target share and rush share are pooled over a player's games. Expected fantasy points price every target by how far downfield it was thrown and every carry by where it started, at last season's league rates. The Usage map leads with the measures that best predicted the rest of a season when tested on past seasons, and says plainly which charts only describe how a player has played. The Emerging list and the Breakouts board each explain their model and track record on their own page.

Automation

Stories are gathered, labelled and ranked automatically, by rules I write and test against what the feed got right and wrong. No story or headline is written by AI; the headlines are the reporters' own.
