- Oct 5 Matt Lombardo (Bluesky) Braxton Berrios heading to IR for the Giants. New York has just been besieged by injuries so far this season.
- Oct 5 Dan Duggan (X) Giants' offensive snap counts vs. Cardinals: • Cam Skattebo still the clear RB1. He's averaging 3.1 yards per carry over the past three games. It's very hard to have a run game with such little explosiveness. Love how hard he runs, but need to make a guy miss once in a while at the second level. I continue to be unimpressed by Najee Harris. Really lumbering. This backfield really needs some lightning to go with all the thunder. Fumbles haven't been an issue during Harris' career, but that could have been a killer at a time when ball security was paramount. Tyrone Tracy got more snaps after barely playing in the first three games. He split third-down snaps with Skattebo. If they're going to get explosives in the run game, they'll come from Tracy. Typical workload for Pat Ricard as the Giants played a lot of big personnel. • Offense looks a lot easier when Malik Nabers is involved. Liked scheming him touches downfield rather than force-feeding him underneath/screens. I still have…

- Sep 29 Aaron Wilson (X) #Giants signed Braxton Berrios to 53+9
- Sep 29 Pat Leonard (X) The Giants squeezed a couple months of good press out of Odell Beckham Jr’s return (it helped to have the headline of him making the roster while they were cutting No. 7 overall pick Evan Neal, for example) But they didn’t give him a meaningful opportunity on the field, even with Malik Nabers looking way below his normal self in the early going His release comes two days after the crowd at MetLife Stadium chanted “OBJ!” wanting him more involved OBJ finishes his Giants return season with 20 snaps, one target and no catches in three games. John Harbaugh gave him a chance to earn his way onto the team, and he did that. But it didn’t result in anything more Giants have only three receivers on their 53-man roster: Nabers, Darnell Mooney and Malachi Fields. Then there’s Braxton Berrios, who is due to by signed as a 4th · Quoting Mike Garafolo: The #Giants are releasing WR Odell Beckham Jr., sources tell me and @RapSheet.
- Sep 29 Dan Duggan (X) I know I was labeled the “hater” on Odell all summer, but now I think we can agree it was a pretty big waste of energy spending so much time worrying about the WR 4/5’s role in an offense that plays so much heavy personnel. Giants now have just three WR on their 53-man roster: Malik Nabers, Malachi Fields and Darnell Mooney. The obvious expectation is that WR/PR Braxton Berrios gets signed to the 53 after exhausting his practice squad elevations, but this team has proven to be unpredictable, so we’ll see… · Quoting Dan Duggan: Reset the counter to 0 for days of the Giants just chilling and not having a headline

The Giants did sign Haener, while elevating Berrios and Harrison. Seems like they’re going to carry three QBs so they have an emergency QB once they add someone next week · Quoting Dan Duggan: Giants have an open spot on the 53 plus two practice squad elevations. Confident the three players for those spots will be QB Jake Haener, WR Braxton Berrios and OLB Malik Harrison.
Question is which one gets signed to the 53. My guess is it won’t be Haener since it sounds like they’re planning to bring in someone to take over as QB2 imminently.
Berrios and Harrison have been elevated for the first two games. So figure they’ll sign one to the 53 today and then do the same with the other next week.

Some notes from Giants coordinators:
• DC Dennard Wilson said he missed last Friday's practice due to the death of his father. Wilson said he coached with a heavy heart and thanked the organization for its support.
• Wilson said there's no excuse for the defense's performance on Monday. He credited the Rams' plan, using chippers and getting the ball out quickly to neutralize the Giants' pass rush. Wilson said they have some answers and he's hoping they show this week.
• OC Matt Nagy said he's "pissed" at himself for not calling a pass on third-and-2 from the 3 before halftime Monday night. It also seems like Nagy regrets not having Cam Skattebo on the field in that spot. Nagy said Pat Ricard needs to play more after going from 53% of the snaps in the opener to 31% in Week 2.
• Nagy said he understands the importance of running backs to get touches to get in a rhythm. He said you want to be careful about giving backs a few touches here and there.
