- Giants-Saints defensive snap counts (trying to post before any more cuts): • Slight uptick in DJ Reader's playing time. Has to be incredibly challenging to limit his snaps because he is far and away their best DT. His TFL on third-and-goal before halftime could have been a game-changing play. Shelby Harris is a tier or two below, and then it drops off a cliff when they get to the young guys. • Abdul Carter was dominant early with the consecutive holding penalties. Bad tackles just don't have a chance against him. He was on a pitch count while playing through a calf injury. He was quieter as the game progressed, but it also turned into a run-heavy second half. Kayvon Thibodeaux has been better the past two weeks, but they still need more. The roughing the passer penalty was just unnecessary. I'll just say the Jihad Ward release was not a surprise. Trace Ford is out of practice squad elevations. I'm not sure it's a lock that he gets signed to the 53. You're seeing the difference…

Same with CB Korie Black, so the Giants aren't opening his practice window to return from IR · Quoting Dan Duggan: Some interesting injury/attendance developments today: RB Najee Harris (?), WR Braxton Berrios (foot), LT Andrew Thomas (presumably groin), DE Chauncey Golston (neck) and S Jason Pinnock (concussion) not spotted during the open portion of practice. WR Malik Nabers went and sat in the rehab section during individual drills and had a conversation with head trainer Adam Bennett. Nabers eventually stood up and repeatedly raised and planted his right foot into the ground. He put his helmet back on as our viewing period ended, so we’ll find out later how much he participated. RB Cam Skattebo was participating in a red non-contact jersey.

- Not much to report from the open portion of practice with the Giants so healthy. Malik Nabers again running full-speed routes. One change with Nabers: After typically being at the end of the line during WR drills all summer, he has been at the front this week. Gearing up. CB Korie Black has been working on the side with a trainer. He’s on IR with a groin injury, but it’s minor, so he should be ready when he’s eligible to get activated in Week 5. Will see where they’re at then at CB.
