Travis Etienne Jr.: Injured Reserve
Oct 1: The Saints are placing Etienne (hamstring) on injured reserve, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
- I’ve brought this up a few times, but with how the Saints injury situation has developed their IR situation/strategy will not be nearly as cut and dried going forward. You’ll have players with longer injury timelines (Elliss and Jennings being good examples) who stay on the active roster. That’s because you only get eight IR-return designations per season. The team has already used three: - Jaylan Ford - Lorenzo Styles - Zach Wood And there are already three more on IR you expect to bring back down the line: - Jordyn Tyson - Travis Etienne - Kelvin Banks That means that you effectively have two more return slots to work with the rest of the season and it’s only Week 6. If they had sent Elliss and Jennings to IR, that would be zero. · Quoting Robert Parker: @Jeff_Nowak Why not just putt those guys on IR
