- Oct 1 Jeff Nowak (X) Saints put some really interesting stuff on tape last week. Enjoyed this concept. You can see Kevin Austin Jr. bubble out his motion so he can turn upfield tight to the formation. When the outside DB carries that route upfield, Juwan is able to release into wide open space.

- I think people are probably reading a little too much into Kendre Miller being inactive. Saints don’t need four active RBs and CJ Donaldson has the short-yardage skillset. Posted about this yesterday. When I went through the numbers it looked to me like the decision would be between Delp/Kendre to be active. The extra TE makes more sense considering how the Saints are operating. · Quoting Jeff Nowak: Assuming the Saints call up a second practice squad player (my guess would be Kevin Austin again) + emergency QB, they'll need to make six guys inactive. Depending on where they feel the numbers are needed, wouldn't be stunned if one of Kendre/CJ ends up a healthy scratch.

- One thing Kellen Moore said today that I think is relevant: He sees the practice squad as an extension of the roster, so the Saints manage things as if it's a 70-man roster. Only 48 can be active on any gameday. I point this out because the Saints currently have just 4 WRs on the roster. Typically that wouldn't seem like enough, but a player like Kevin Austin is viewed as functionally part of that group. It feels like a near certainty that he's elevated for Week 1.
