Giants-Texans pregame thoughts:
• There are different games during the season when you feel like you can learn a lot about a team. This feels like one of those games after the coaches turned up the heat this week. Had Harbaugh calling out a running back — any running back — to step up and Dennard Wilson putting the defense's effort on blast. This team has proven to be mentally tough this season, so we'll see how they respond today.
• JJ McCarthy is a total wild card. Really impossible to predict what we'll see him from today. But I do expect the offense to shift back to what we saw in the opener. McCarthy's legs should help open up some lanes on zone read. But the Texans have a stout run defense. Won't be easy to just ground-and-pound their way through this one.
• Cam Skattebo is out of the doghouse. Expecting a time share with Tyrone Tracy, with Devin Singletary mixed in. Harbaugh hoping someone emerges and they can ride that back.
• Malik Nabers has been on a tear: 6-112-1,…

Halftime thoughts, stats on #Texans vs. #Cowboys as Houston leads 13-6:
🏉 Texans' much maligned offense got a much-needed boost immediately from Pro Bowl receiver Nico Collins. In his first game back from a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Collins' speed and route running make a difference as he began game with 45-yard catch to set up his touchdown reception. He has four catches for 75 yards on four targets. The Cowboys have shifted Joey Porter Jr. to cover him after Daron Bland struggled in man coverage against Collins.
🏉 Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud has been efficient with 9 of 14 passing for 163 yards, one score and no interceptions for a 128.0 passer rating. His longest play of the game so far: a 52-yard pass to Jaylin Noel, the fastest player on the offense.
🏉 The defense has been all over Dak Prescott, limiting him to 12 of 20 passing for 87 yards. He's been sacked three times and hit eight times overall. The pass coverage of Derek Stingley Jr. and Kamari Lassiter has been strong,…
