How Jayden Daniels sideline speech impacted Commanders win over Eagles
The Commanders offense did not start Sunday’s game well, by the eye test or any proven metric. Washington’s attack, point blank and pulling no punches, was awful. They went just 18 yards on seven plays following an excellent Luke McCaffrey opening return, and then missed a field goal largely due to consecutive false starts taking […]

[NFL] Luke McCaffrey starting off SNF with a big kick return 🗣️

- 2d John Keim (X) Luke McCaffrey made the team in part because of his special teams play. Two good returns tonight; second results in the go-ahead FG.
- 2d EJ Smith (X) #Eagles can't take advantage of the two-for-one opportunity, instead go three-and-out in the final minute of the first half. As I type this, Luke McCaffrey returned the punt to midfield. Commanders have a chance to get points here.

Two tough breaks for Siran. The ball goes wonky and hits his leg on a punt return a few weeks ago, now he draws a flag for interference on a great punt coverage hit. Neither was his fault.
On this play, Luke McCaffrey threw a fast fair catch signal almost the moment the punt was coming off Waitman’s foot, so there’s no way Siran Neal could have seen it. McCaffrey induced an interference call.
Accident or intentional? I think Luke knew exactly what he was doing. Those McCaffreys are devious.

- Oct 20 David Lombardi (X) It was a good play from both Luke McCaffrey and Siran Neal — and a sign that the NFL should amend its fair catch. Can’t blame Luke for capitalizing on the system and Siran for not seeing the signal while he was releasing off the line and working against a blocker · Quoting Dontay Atkinson: Two tough breaks for Siran.
