- Sep 15 Larry Mayer (X) A few observations after watching a replay of Bears’ 59-37 win over Panthers: 1/3 Jahdae Walker with an amazing all-around game. On offense, he caught TD pass, shielded defenders from reaching Kyle Monangai on 61-yard TD run, blasted CB on short reception by Kalif Raymond. On special teams, he walloped Jimmy Horn Jr. on 15-yard kickoff return. I asked Jahdae yesterday which play was his favorite and he said: “I like all of them equally just because before the game we were talking about [how] everyone has a role and I just wanted to star in my role.” HE DID!
- Sep 15 Mike Kaye (X) Yes, there's this. But I'd also say Canales laid it on thick about turnovers leading to points on Sunday and Monday, and the muffed punt led to points for Chicago. They needed room to enhance the defense, and six wideouts is somewhat of a luxury (they also have 3 on p-squad), but now you don't have a primary returner. · Quoting Dennis Cox: For those wondering why Jimmy Horn Jr. was waived and Xavier Legette is still on the team - releasing XL would actually cost more against the Carolina Panthers salary cap than keeping him. XL counts about $3.37M against the cap. Cutting Legette would cost them $5.85M.
