Worth pointing out that Todd Wash, the interim DC, oversaw the best seasons of Derrick Brown and arguably A’Shawn Robinson’s careers. He’s called plays in a system Canales is VERY familiar with, so they understand each other’s approach. #Panthers

- 4d Mike Kaye (X) Todd Wash called a 4-3 under in JAX and it could be argued the #Panthers have better 4-3 talent (especially in under fronts) than 3-4 talent. Hypothetically speaking, if they put in some of those looks... Big end (5-tech): Derrick Brown, Aaron Hall NT (1 Tech): Lee Hunter, Bobby Brown 3T: Turk Wharton (exponentially better fit here than anything they've asked him to do over the past two years), could use both Browns, Hunter, Hall and Pat Jones here, too. LEO: Jaelan Phillips, Pat Jones, Princely Umanmielen, Trevis Gipson WILL: Tyrel Dodson MIKE: Devin Lloyd, Jackson Kuwatch OTTO: Bobby Okereke, Jones, Gipson, Phillips

- Derrick Brown, good at football.
- Kaye's Take: I think it's important to point out how bad the talent was on defense in 2024 when the defense gave up the most rushing yards in a season since 1980. But it's also worth pointing out if you take away the 8 occurrences of 200 or more rushing yards in 2024 (which occurred when Derrick Brown was limited to just one game), they're still tied for the most over the past two years as notable talent has been added to the mix. Most fans have urged for Ejiro Evero to play rookies, and well, he has since the second quarter of last season, perhaps those young players have played their part in the execution department failures. There have been notable injuries, too.

Finding turnout gear for a 6-foot-5, 330-pound NFL defensive tackle isn't exactly an everyday request for Charlotte Fire, but we made it happen!
Carolina Panthers defensive tackle Derrick Brown, No. 95, traded his football gear for Charlotte Fire turnout gear today at Firehouse 11, joining our Rescue 11 and Engine 11 crews for a hands-on vehicle extrication demonstration. And we've got to give him credit. He handled the powerful Jaws of Life equipment impressively well, getting a firsthand look at the strength, skill and precision firefighters use to rescue people trapped in vehicles.
But behind the excitement was an important message. During National Teen Driver Safety Week, we're reminding young drivers that the decisions they make behind the wheel can have life-changing consequences. Our firefighters see those consequences firsthand, and preventing crashes is always better than responding to them.
A big thank you to USAA for bringing this event together, to Derrick Brown for…

- Oct 3 Mike Kaye (X) On Sunday night, Dave Canales will front his 38th regular-season game as #Panthers head coach. Why is that significant?
