Eagles at Commanders Week 8 prediction
This Week 8 game against the Washington Commanders is a test of the Philadelphia Eagles’ pride. The Birds’ defense got embarrassed by the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. Vic Fangio was outcoached. Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis were shoved around. Riq Woolen was torched. Cooper DeJean struggled. This unit should want to turn in a […]
- Cooper DeJean gave an honest answer about how challenging it's been for him to bounce back from bad plays during this #Eagles losing streak last night. Here's the full quote, which I'd argue paints the picture of a player struggling with confidence at the moment: "It's been tough, to be honest. With the success that we've had the last couple years, it's been tough to lose games, even lose snaps out there on defense." "Not to look at the past, but we made a lot of plays the last couple years. There's been plays that we've made that we haven't made this season. You have to find a way to get past that, though, and learn from it. But I'd be lying if I said it's easy to just move on from those plays. You get beat, you mess up a fit, whatever it is. It's tough to move on from that. But that's the mindset you have to have in this league."

Panthers TE Tommy Tremble: I taunted Cooper DeJean because of his "egregious" hit on teammate
Panthers tight end Tommy Tremble punctuated his second touchdown of Sunday's 25-14 win over the Eagles by turning toward and pointing at defensive back Cooper DeJean.
- Both Tremble and Mitch Evans said after the game that they knew the play would work based on what they’d seen coming into this game. · Quoting Jeff McLane: Nick Sirianni on the #Eagles' busted coverage [likely between Cooper DeJean and Riq Woolen] that led to the Panthers' game-sealing TD: "I though it was a good design on their part. I'll give them credit. They went and executed it and they scored on it." Me: It was a good play: using three TEs to get the Eagles in base personnel, motioning one TE to shift the secondary, and then throwing out of it off play-action. This is what the Eagles offense wants to be, at least that was the bill of goods they sold when Sean Mannion was hired as OC. But there hardly ever comes a time when the new offense schemes someone open or creates confusion on defense. The personnel is obviously shorthanded, but it's been this way all season. Mannion simply can't effectively scheme or call an effective offense right now.
