- Some Patriots thoughts/news nuggets: 🏈This was a straight-forward cut-down day. No shocking moves. One of the more interesting decisions was keeping quarterback Behren Morton, the 2026 seventh-round pick from Texas Tech, as the third option. It speaks to the importance of the position; notable that four teams kept four QBs on initial 53-man rosters (Eagles, Falcons, Steelers, Vikings), which is unusual. 🏈Would be shocked if the Patriots don’t aggressively address OLB, either on the practice squad or a waiver claim. Teams aren’t giving quality pass-rushers away, but a player like Caleb Murphy – who played five games for the Patriots last season, was waived by the Giants, and would be a plug-and-play core special teamer at minimum – would provide the team with some much-needed experienced OLB depth. 🏈Five.
