- Raheem Morris has enjoyed stocking up on defenders with long arms. Like Jaden Dugger, new DE/OLB Khalid Kareem has a 7-foot wingspan. He played under Morris past two seasons so 49ers get a player with system familiarity. They have to fly him 10,000 miles from ATL to 🇦🇺! · Quoting Greg Auman: The 49ers are signing OLB Khalid Kareem off the Falcons’ practice squad. He’s on his way to Melbourne ahead of their opener against the Rams. He’s 28, former Bengals draft pick who spent the last two years with Atlanta.
- Also, remember that the 49ers will be running more 3-4/OLB stuff under new DC Raheem Morris. That means outside linebacker types will more frequently take on edge-rushing responsibilities and it could impact how heavily SF stocks the standard DE room. Someone like LB Jaden Dugger has even practiced with the DEs.
