Joe Schoen announced they signed C Geno VanDeMark to the practice squad. Alabama product was with the Colts as an undrafted free agent. They're cutting CB JT Woods to make room.
Schoen indicated that they could sign another DT to the practice squad next week. Also said they wanted to bring back OLB Caleb Murphy and ILB Darius Muasau. But Muasau got claimed by the Patriots and Murphy opted to join the other Harbaugh brother in LA.

- Some Patriots thoughts/news nuggets: 🏈This was a straight-forward cut-down day. No shocking moves. One of the more interesting decisions was keeping quarterback Behren Morton, the 2026 seventh-round pick from Texas Tech, as the third option. It speaks to the importance of the position; notable that four teams kept four QBs on initial 53-man rosters (Eagles, Falcons, Steelers, Vikings), which is unusual. 🏈Would be shocked if the Patriots don’t aggressively address OLB, either on the practice squad or a waiver claim. Teams aren’t giving quality pass-rushers away, but a player like Caleb Murphy – who played five games for the Patriots last season, was waived by the Giants, and would be a plug-and-play core special teamer at minimum – would provide the team with some much-needed experienced OLB depth. 🏈Five. - Aug 30 Dan Duggan (X) Pretty "chalk" 53. Obviously couldn't have predicted the Okoye trade (knew a DL addition was coming) and that took a spot (Caleb Murphy?). I'm not sure I'd call Berrios a miss; more of roster gymnastics. Big whiff was backup center — tea leaves seemed to be pointing toward Patrick, but it was a coin flip. Here's my projection from yesterday morning:
