The Commanders will have 2 QBs available Sunday: Jayden Daniels and Athan Kaliakmanis. Marcus Mariota is out with an MCL sprain, and they didn’t sign Sam Hartman to the 53, so he’s not eligible to be their emergency 3rd QB. · Quoting Nicki Jhabvala: The Commanders’ many roster moves: -Activated DE Deatrich Wise Jr. off PUP list and removed him from the injury report -Signed LB Austin Keys from the practice squad - Elevated S Darren Hall and WR Van Jefferson from the practice squad Downgraded CB Trey Amos (ankle) and RB Jeremy McNichols (quad) to out. Why it's #1 Out · Jayden Daniels (top-50)

• INJ Nicki Jhabvala (X) WAS Athan KaliakmanisQB Jayden DanielsQB Sam HartmanQB Oct 9
Adam Peters explained this on @JunksRadio this morning, but it's worth repeating: The inactive/emergency 3rd QB has to be on the 53-man roster. Can't be a P-squad elevation. And he can only come in if the other two QBs are unable to play. So, the Commanders would have to sign Sam Hartman to the active roster to have him available in case Jayden Daniels and Athan Kaliakmanis go down. Show all

• INJ Nicki Jhabvala (X) NYG WAS Jayden DanielsQB Sam HartmanQB Oct 4 upd
So now you have to wonder if the Commanders try to get another veteran QB this week. Jayden Daniels is on track to return vs. Giants, but he's coming off the elbow injury and if Mariota can't go, their backups are Kaliakmanis and Sam Hartman.

Jayden Daniels to… Sam Hartman. Daniels has been warming up and throwing passes to Hartman as part of his pre-game warmup. (Hartman did have a nice one-handed catch). Daniels Has thrown a lot of passes.
