The Big Hitter Brotherhood didn’t expect to be adding any modern-day members. But Malik Mustapha, the #49ers’ old-soul safety who lights up opponents like it’s 1999? Yeah, the kid’s in the club.

This isn't the first time Malik Mustapha has excelled. Over 409 snaps in coverage as a rookie in 2024, Mustapha allowed only 7 catches for 49 yards — that 0.12 yards allowed per cover snap was the best figure among NFL safeties. Mustapha tore his ACL to close the season, but he's clearly now back at full speed Show all

  • Oct 20 David Lombardi (X) 2 of Raheem Morris' best play calls after Upton Stout had to exit the game hurt: Blitzing his replacement, Ashtyn Davis. Washington clearly had a matchup advantage vs Davis in coverage (see Treylon Burks deep grab). So Morris fired 2 critical blitz bullets with Davis instead. The first caught Jayden Daniels way off guard and led to an essential throwaway on 3rd-and-long, setting up Malik Mustapha's 4th-down heroics. Morris has made tremendously quick in-game adjustments this season. He next will face the team he used to coach, the Atlanta Falcons

  • Oct 20 David Lombardi (X) We saw this from Malik Mustapha in 2024, his rookie season. He was a star, a bright spot in a tough year. The ACL tear in the final game + the lack of a 2025 pass rush made many forget that. CMC: “He’s a missile.”
