The Cardinals had a few interesting cuts today: LB Owen Pappoe, DL Jonah Williams, CB Sean Murphy-Bunting and TE Teagan Quitoriano all stood out to me.
The trade for Hunter Long was the writing on the wall for Quitoriano.
Wasn't surprised by LB B.J. Ojulari, CB Elijah Jones or CB Starling Thomas V.
With James Conner going on the IR/designated to return list, there's some clarity on his status and health.
A few things of note that stood out:
- The Cardinals kept seven wide receivers, as I projected.
- Rookie S Wydett Williams Jr., who could've gone back to Ole Miss, made the roster.
- Keeping three running backs likely means Jeremiyah Love will be good for Week 1.
Here are all the cuts:
LB Eugene Asante
S Devyn Bobby
TE Shawn Bowman
LB Elliott Brown
P Jack Browning
S Hudson Clark
CB Elijah Culp
OL Ka’ena De Cambra
TE Rivaldo Fairweather
DL Cam Horsley
RB Evan Hull
OL Demontrey Jacobs
OL Christian Jones
CB Elijah Jones
CB Kalen King
DL Brodric Martin-Rhodes
CB Sean…

- Aug 30 Kyle Odegard (X) You must do one of two things as a GM: Find a franchise QB and maximize his ability, or nail free agency/the draft. Monti Ossenfort has done neither, and it’s why he will be out of a job come January. · Quoting Theo Mackie: Four of the Cardinals' five biggest 2024 free agent signings have now been released: -Jonah Williams: $25.8m, 15 games -Justin Jones: $21.2m, 3 games -Bilal Nichols: $14.8m, 10 games -Sean Murphy-Bunting: $13.3m, 15 games Mack Wilson Sr. stands out as the lone success.

- Carl Granderson is dealing with an ankle injury. Even if he plays, unlikely to be 100% so you'd probably want to keep his snap count limited. Saints made Tyree Wilson a healthy scratch in this game, but he'll need to be one the guys who steps up ... also have Fadil Diggs, Jonah Williams and David Ojabo on the practice squad, though Ojabo just got here.
